Simple Plates in Cinema 4D By:

Requirements: Cinema 4D (any version)

Ok here you will learn to create some plates, which could be used on a dinning table!
This is a very simple way of doing it, however other methods do exist. But this one is quick.

Step 1: Once Cinema is launched create a disc object. You can do that from clicking on the
arrow with the cube or by going to Object>Primitive>Disc

Step 2: Resize the disc so that you have values of around 308 for the X and Z and Y is 0

Step 3: Make the object editable (c) and go to the top view (F2) press "o" and in polygon
mode select the polygons like illustrated in figure 1

Step 4: Now activate the trunk and in the parameter editor in the stem settings lower the "Length"
to around 16. Now next click on the material tab. (still in the parameter editor)

Step 5: Now using the move active element tool, grab the Y axis (green arrow) and move it down
so that the position of these polygons are at -13.034 for the Y position in the coordinates manager.

Step 6: Now back in the top view, select the one ring of polygons at the edge (see below)

Step 7: Now right click on the polygons and from the menu choose "Subdivide".
Enter a value of 2 and make sure that HyperNURBS Subdivide is not checked.

Step 8: Select the outer most row of polygons again (like in step 6)
right click and choose the bevel option.

Step 9: You can bevel it to whatever you want, but my results in the coordinate manager are as follows:
Position: Y: 2.25 and for the size X and Y are both at 303.483

Step 10:That is all, but if you want you can then right click again and choose "Edit Surface" and "Split"
then delete the selected polygons on the plate itself and then rename the "Disc.1" to ring, and you now
have a ring that you can apply nice gold or silver texture to.
